8 Roles that made us love Alan Rickman
Whether he gave us chills playing the bad guy or melted our hearts playing the good guy, the late Alan Rickman's roles certainly never left us on the fence. Here are our top favourites.
1. In his first Hollywood film, he played bad guy Hans Gruber in 1988’s Die Hard.
2. He was so good at playing the bad guy he did it again, this time as the Sheriff of Nottingham in 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
3. Â In 1995 he played Colonel Brandon in director Ang Lee’s adaption of Sense and Sensibility.
4. He made us all laugh in Dogma playing Metatron.
5. Â In 1995 he graced us with his presence in science fiction comedy Galaxy Guest.
6. Then he broke our hearts when he played unfaithful husband, Harry in Love Actually.
7. Then he stole our hearts again in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as Marvin the Paranoid Android.
8. Most people will now remember him for his brilliant performance as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies.
All in all, Alan Rickman’s characters gave us joy, made us cry and live forever in our hearts. RIP
