Energy company scoops awards

Mr Christo Spammer, said they would continue promoting a culture of safety.

Camden Power Station (CPS) scooped three top awards during the Nosa Northern Region Awards in Mpumalanga recently.

The energy company was awarded for the best Occupational Health programme, best Occupational Safety programme and the Nosa Integrated Five Star System (sector-E).

According to a statement released by the company, their commitment to safety culture was confirmed when Nosa recently conducted an audit at their station and awarded it a Five Star status.

The statement further reads that the employees are working harder and are more dedicated to ensuring that the next company goal is achieved.

CPS management said their employees always make safety their priority and it is also regularly preached to them.
On 1 September, Camden achieved 1500 days free of Lost Time Injury (LTI), which they say is a remarkable achievement for any power station and sets the standard for safety and excellence.

CPS has also received the ISO 1400:2004 System Certification issued by a Zurich, Switzerland auditing firm, Societe Generale de Surveillance.

CPS Manager, Mr Christo Spammer, said they would continue promoting a culture of safety in all their operations and thanked all the employees for their hard work and flying Camden’s flag high.
