The waiting is finally over

The long wait for an RDP house is finally over

After 25 years of waiting, gogo Elisabeth Kuki Thela (75) and Titos Masina from KwaZanele, Breyten have finally moved into their RDP house handed to them by the Speaker for Msukaligwa Municipality Mr B.M. Buthelezi yesterday.

The couple were presented with a fully furnished house courtesy of Mr David Hlatshwayo, manager for Ermelo Price n Pride Furniture who donated a bedroom set, fridge, stove, kitchen table and chairs among others and another bed was donated by Mr Koos Badenhorst from Ermelo Toyota in his personal capacity.

The family relocated to Breyten in 1990 after being removed from Mooiplaas Farm near Breyten.

In their words of appreciation, the elderly couple thanked the ward councilor, municipality and the donors for the furniture.

Mr Buthelezi urged the neighbors and members of the community to look after the couple and their belongings. “As caring neighbours and community, we need to make sure that the couple doesn’t fall victims to robbery or anything else, lets take good care of them,” said Mr Buthelezi.
