Working on fire hosts fire awareness campaign

Sheepmore community assured Working on Fire that there would not be unwanted veld fires in their area.

The Sheepmore community has assured Working On Fire (WoF) that there would be no unwanted veld fires acress their area.

This was during the provincial fire awareness campaign that took place in Sheepmore community hall last Friday. Community Fire Awareness Officer Mbuso Siwela educated the community about the dangers caused by unwanted veld fires.

The WoF programme has over the past 12 years contributed significantly to the governments initiative in creating work opportunities, alleviating poverty and restoring dignity to the youth.

Mbuso Siwela told the community that they must make sure that they do fire breaks around their homes and caution should be taken not to cause unwanted veld fires.
