Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison Vusi Shongwe and family bid farewell to their daughter, sister, niece and granddaughter Thandiswa Sethu Shongwe (8) at KwaZanele cemetery yesterday.
Grief and sadness could be seen on family members faces as they bid final farewell to her.
In his message of support to the family, Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza said loosing a child is never easy, “your loss is our loss,” said Mabuza in his moving statement.
The funeral was also attended by Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters, Free State Transport MEC Butana Komphela and Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana among others.
Sethu died after being hit by a car while trying to cross a street to her home in Ermelo last Wednesday.
