Vehicle transporter overturns

A vehicle transporter carrying eight new and used vehicles jack-knifed and overturned near Estancia on the N11 road between Ermelo and Hendrina early on Wednesday morning.

A co-driver suffered severe leg injuries but the driver was uninjured.

According to police and emergency workers on the scene, the accident occurred in dense mist after the driver of the transporter lost control of his vehicle, causing it to swerve across the road and overturn.

At least four of the vehicles were severely damaged in the incident. Traffic was brought to a halt while emergency workers cleared the wreckage.
