Masibuyele Esibayeni Livestock Development Programme aids several enterprising farmers

This programme recently assisted many farmers of cattle, sheep and others with some additions to their livestock. They encouraged the other applicants to be patient as they await their turn.

Bab’ Noster Napo, a smallholder farmer from Rietfontein in the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality with 14 years in the field, recently received a set of 25 Bonsmara heifers and one bull, thanks to his successful application to be assisted through the Masibuyele Esibayeni Livestock Development Programme.

After three consecutive years of failed attempts, Bab’ Napo finally received these cattle and called on his peers to be patient while applying, saying that their turn will definitely come.

Masibuyele Esibayeni is also the benefactor of Lishop Maaboi of Mooiplaas near in the Gert Sibande District. He applied for sheep, and received a well-deserved 10 ewes and one breeding ram.
Maaboi, who has a thorough history in livestock farming and adaptability of small stock, has infrastructure and grazing camps in fair condition. Currently, his 204ha project supplies livestock to auctions and individual buyers.

Banele Kamanga is a mere 21-year-old, passionate livestock farmer from the Mlima Gada Project in Vlaaklagte No.1 in the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality. He received a set of 13 boer goats through the Masibuyele Esibayeni Livestock Development Programme, augmenting the 32 he already had.
Together with his free-range chickens, Kamanga plans to increase his production scale and realise his goal of turning into a commercial farmer.

Mlangeni Farming Project’s owner, Mandla Mlangeni, is the latest beneficiary who just took delivery of 10 ewes and one ram from the programme. This Carolina-based project also features 12 cattle and 28 small stock that are supplied to various auctions and individual buyers, while 10ha is used for grain crop production.
The grateful Mlangeni said receiving the sheep is a milestone for his project that has been in existence for 30 years, after he had been applying for some time with the hope to grow and contribute to food security in the Gert Sibande District.
