Municipality hands over water project

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison Mr V.R. Shongwe officially handed over the Water Reticulation Project at Khayelihle, Wesselton to Msukaligwa Municipality on Thursday.

Hundreds of excited and pleased Khayelihle residents attended the event where during the proceedings Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality Cllr M.P.P. Nhlabathi informed the masses that during the project, 1100 households received clean and drinkable water and 700 jobs were created for local people.

Honourable Shongwe informed those present that latest reports from STATS SA show that Mpumalanga is the second highest province after Western Cape with the number of people with access to water at 56.3 percent.

Executive Mayor of Msukaligwa Municipality Cllr Sipho Bongwe informed the people that the correct and original name is Khayelihle not Khayelisha, much to the delight and awe from the guests and residents.
