Ermelo Phoenix Rotary Club sells purple ribbons for Women’s Day

The ribbons will be sold during the 3.5 km Wiggle Waggle Walkathon that will be hosted by the club in collaboration with Vets Mart.

ERMELO – To celebrate International Women’s Day for the month of March, the Ermelo Phoenix Rotary Club will sell purple ribbons to empower young girls in the community.
 
Using the proceeds of the ribbon sales, they plan to create sanitary packs with Dignity Dreams items.
 
Additionally, a group of students will be invited to participate in a self-defence course.

The ribbons will be sold during the 3.5 km Wiggle Waggle Walkathon that will be hosted by the club in collaboration with Vets Mart.
 
Registration will start at 08:00 at the Bottomless Blessings Coffee Roastery at 24 Robertson Street on March 21. 
 
Whether you prefer to walk or run, the club and Vets Mart welcome all dog lovers to join as long as they ensure their dogs are properly secured on a leash.
 
Tickets for this event cost R50 for adults and R30 for children aged 5-12.
 
In addition to prizes, prego rolls and samoosas will be available for purchase afterwards.

If residents wish, they can alternatively purchase ribbons through any of the club’s members.
 
Ribbons cost R10 each.
