Carolina Police lend a helping hand

During the handout, Const Malaza reminded the families that the police do not only arrest, but also give a helping hand to the public.

Carolina Police in partnership with the Department of Social Development (DSD) recently donated clothes and food parcels to eight families at Silobela in Carolina.
Const Nosipho Mahlangu said they were moved by the hunger and poverty they usually see in different families when carrying out police duties and decided to assist wherever they could.
Police members and business owners donated clothes, food and blankets.
The DSD was roped in to identify other needy families, as they work closely with such families.
Const Nosipho Mahlangu said they have other similar projects in the pipeline that will benefit the community of Silobela.
During the handout, Const Malaza reminded the families that the police do not only arrest, but also give a helping hand to the public.
Anyone who wants to take part in the project or wishes to donate can contact or deliver at the Department of Social Development.
