Get your week off to a good start with these series...

Start the week with a comedy-drama about a single mother who pretends to be younger than she is, to find a job in her desired field of work; uncover the real stories behind your favourite pop songs with a docuseries that charts the impact of the festival scene, Auto-Tune, boy bands and more; and watch a medical drama about a doctor who becomes the medical director of one of the United States’ oldest public hospitals.

Based on the Pamela Redmond Satran novel of the same name, Younger follows Liza Miller, a 40-year-old recently divorced mother who, after finding it difficult to get a job at her age, attempts to pass herself off as a 26-year-old to start her life over. Season 7 is now showing on Showmax.

If you always wondered how the autotune in songs worked or always wanted to go behind the formation of boy bands then Netflix’s brand-new documentary, This is Pop will surely get you hooked. This is Pop will feature some of the top artists from the 1980s to mid-2000s and will treat the viewers with eight different episodes. The documentary will feature exclusive interviews with record producers, songwriters, and pop stars. *Warning, explicit language in the trailer.

When Dr Max Goodwin took over New Amsterdam, he asked a simple, revolutionary question: “How can I help?” In season three, Max and his team face the daunting task of sustaining that optimism while dealing with a pandemic that exposed the gaping inequities in our health care. Max is no longer content to fix a broken system. He’s determined to tear it down and build something better. New Amsterdam is back on Mondays, 8:30pm on M-Net.
