Key points and large power users excluded from load-shedding

The City’s load-shedding schedule up to stage eight has been revised to accommodate changes made as agreed upon with Eskom.

The City of Ekurhuleni held a meeting with Eskom on June 3 where an agreement was reached to exclude large power users and national key points from stage one and two load-shedding where the network configuration allows for it.

Switching configurations only allow for a small number of large power users to be excluded at this point. The City will engage in further discussions with Eskom in the future to allow for more industrial areas to be excluded on both stage one and two load-shedding.
