Maluti Double90 postponed

After careful consideration, the Pedal Power Association (PPA) has made the difficult decision to postpone the Cycle Lab Maluti Double90 that was due to take place on April 17.

PPA is in the process of securing a suitable alternative date in September and will advise teams as soon as a new date has been confirmed.

The decision to postpone the event is based on the key factors of the ongoing high number of Covid-19 infections, with a possible third wave anticipated around April to June and the ongoing National State of Disaster and its associated restrictions.

While it was the strong wish that the event would have been able to go ahead in April, the health and safety of the Maluti Double 90 riders, volunteers, officers and support crews remain the PPA’s top priority.

The PPA executive committee sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused and trusts that this notice will provide teams with adequate time to make the necessary logistical arrangements as a result of the postponement of the event.

Teams not able to participate in the event on the new 2021 date will be given the option to defer their team entry/entries to 2022. Regrettably, no refund will be offered since the event is not completely cancelled, therefore assuming teams will still make use of their entry later this year.
