Mnelisi desires to be Miss Teen East Rand

Mnelisi Capa aspires to be Miss Teen East Rand and wants to be an anchor of hope and change in her community.
Capa is the Face of East Rand 2021 and Miss Teen East Rand semi-finalist. The 17-year-old is based in Dawn Park and is in matric at Falcon Educational School.
She said modelling made her fall in love with and believe in herself more. She added modelling has made her think broadly and made her realise that she is capable of anything.
“I want to empower the youth to be more dedicated in life and I want to be a living proof that dreams come true,” said Capa.
The aspiring model said her experience in the competition has forced her to get out of her comfort zone.
“I am working towards starting my organisation, which will equip young people in my neighbourhood with practical skills that can be used to generate an income.
“Substance abuse among youngsters is also a huge challenge. I am working towards collaborating with rehabilitation centres to help eradicate the problem,” she continued.
“Many people suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses which require immediate attention. If delayed, these conditions can result in an increase in substance abuse,” concluded Capa.
