Katlehong Police arrested 53 suspects over the weekend

All suspects arrested over the weekend, are expected to appear in Palm Ridge Court on Monday 28th September 2020 according to their different charges.

Katlehong Police arrested 53 suspects over the weekend during daily stop and search operation. Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department has their own operation also around Katlehong, which resulted to the arrest of forty(40) suspects for driving motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Motorists were issued with fines for defaulting the rules of the road.

Other suspects were arrested for assault with the intention to inflict bodily harm, for assault common, for robbery in the business place, for theft, for Domestic violence, for shoplifting, for being in possession of drugs and

A 25 year old man is arrested in Tembisa for murder occurred in Katlehong at Spruitview. It is alleged that a suspect stabbed his 50 year old mother on Thursday 24th September 2020. His mother was only discovered on Friday 25th September 2020 with several stab wounds on her lower and upper body.

The deceased was discovered by a 30 year old suspect’s sister on Friday after she was also attacked by the same suspect(brother). A 20 year old sister and her eleven year old daughter suffered stab wounds and were taken to the Local hospital by an Ambulance for treatment.

It is alleged that a suspect demanded money from his sister so that he can run away from the police and instructed his sister not to report the incident to the police. In order to safe her life, and for her children, she gave him money. Police were phoned after the suspect has disappeared.

Police discovered the a 50 year old woman has more than ten stab wounds on her body, a 30 year old sister was stabbed on both hands and on the breast, while an eleven year old daughter was stabbed on both arms. A murder weapon was found inside the house.

Katlehong Police Station Commander Brigadier Albertina Vesi was disturbed by this incident especially when the whole Nation is talking about the Gender Based Violence of no violence against women, children and vulnerable persons. Katlehong Police started with an investigation, man hunt for the murder suspect.

Message was escalated all over the police stations which resulted to the police member from Olifantsfontein last night inflicted an arrest of the suspect at Ebony in Tembisa. Station Commander of Katlehong applaud to the police member for job well done.

Suspects should know that you can run but you cannot hide. Police can arrest any suspect for a crime he or she committed anywhere in South Africa. Arrested suspect will be charged with murder and attempted murder.
