Cambridge suffers third defeat

The team hopes to bounce back to winning ways in the next match.

Cambridge FC faced Alberton FC in Alberton on December 1.

“The match was a mouth-watering affair between two good teams,” Cambridge chairperson Ignatius Mapike said.
“The spectators were treated to a good game of end-to-end football.”

Alberton FC scored their first goal early in the match when a penalty was awarded only five minutes into the half.
“The Cambridge team fought back with energy and confidence, with the experienced Sejthaba Mmuso back on the team,” Maphike said.

“The team created various chances to score and made it to the Alberton team’s net twice but failed to convert it to a goal.”

The first half of the match ended 1-0, with the Alberton FC leading.

The second half saw the Cambridge team play hard to score an equalising goal, but the Alberton FC defence line kept them away from the goal.

The Alberton team also tried to score more goals, but the Cambridge team kept them away.

“It was one of those games,” Maphike said.

“Luck was just not on our side, and we should have walked away with at least a point, but poor officiating by the referees made it a long night for our boys.

“Many positives can be taken from the game, and we can only hope to bounce back with a win at home.”
The match ended with a final score of 1-0 for the Alberton team.
