Cambrigde finish fourth in SAB League

The club's focus will now be on the MAFA local league.

Cambridge FC took on Golden Touch FC on May 29.

This after the team finished fourth in the SAB League.

“The SAB League was very long and challenging,” said chairperson of the club, Ignatius Maphike.

“We will now be focusing on the club’s future, the younger players currently playing in the MAFA local league.”

During the match on Sunday, the team’s management made some changes to the players, by putting all of their U21 players on the field to assist the younger players.

The team scored five goals during the opening half of the match.

With the experience of the U21 players who had played in the SAB League, the Cambridge team scored five more goals during the second half of the match to win 10-0.

“This is a good initiative,” Maphike said. “Because the boys who didn’t get much playing time in the club’s first team, now has the chance to play and prove their worth to be part of the SAB team in the next season.

“We are proud of the win, and it only serves as a reminder that the club in moving in the right direction to build local players.”
