Cambridge beat Ace Auto Ayobo

Cambridge FC team is currently in the running for the top spot of the SAB League.

Cambridge FC jumped to second place on the SAB League log after winning their match against Ace Auto Ayobo FC from Kwa-Thema at the Jim Fouché Stadium on April 2.

“The cool and cloudy weather led to a slow start,” said team chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

“But the slightly wet pitch gave the players a very fast pace of the ball.

“The players had to be on top of their game to control the ball.”

Cambridge player Oupa Mbokazi scored the first goal 35 minutes into the first half, ending the half 1-0 for his team.

“The second half saw Cambridge making good combination plays and neat passes,” said Maphike.

“But the opposing team gave us a run for our money.”

The Cambridge team scored a goal during the second half, with Thabang Makgabutlane putting the ball in the net.

The Ace Auto Ayobo team scored a goal during this half as well, ending the match 2-1 for Cambridge.

“We are excited to be on top with the Luso Africa team,” said head coach Godfrey Hermanus.

“It’s all up to the players to make it happen during the last two games.”

“This is all for the community of Nigel,” concluded Maphike.

“We can only thank them for their continuous support.”
