Are you ready for LCC’s Cycle for Hope challenge?

Lesedi Community Centre (LCC) in Heidelberg is hosting its annual Mountain Bike Challenge (MTB) - Challenge for Hope on October 12 at 07:30 at Lezar Opstal on the Groenfontein Road.

It is the third consecutive event of its kind and according to the project spokesperson Jaco Kritzinger, last year’s event received a total of 861 entries.

The proceeds are divided amongst various charity organisations. LCC is the main beneficiary of the Challenge for Hope event and is a non-profit organisation where members of the local community find hope in the form of various programmes such as feeding schemes, community projects, training and spiritual upliftment. The aim of the centre is to help the needy and provide them with the necessary skills needed to become self -sufficient.

The race promises to be very exciting and consists of four mountain bike routes, a fun run, and a walk and entertainment for the entire family. The routes cater for all skill levels with a mixture of rocky singletrack, fast flowing jeep tracks and district roads.

There will also be heaps of entertainment including a horse show, jumping castles, face painting and pony rides to name a few.

Various food stalls will ensure full bellies and to top off the event, all participants will receive a medal for finishing the race. The first 1000 entrants will also receive a free gift bag.

The fun walk/run consists of a 12km, 6km, and 3km race, whereas the mountain bike challenge has five legs, namely a 3km, 12km, 35km, 45km and 65km race.

Several sponsors have already added their weight to the project and Kritzinger has thanked everyone for their loyal support.
