Your focus creates your reality

The main reason people give up hope in life is that they focus on what they don’t have.

“The main reason people give up hope in life is that they focus on what they don’t have,” – Veli Ndaba.

Whatever we focus on, we fuel it. When we put time and energy into resisting an emotion, we make it stronger.

In neuroscience, a field more concerned with the nervous system, specifically the brain, there is a discovered phenomenon known as neuroplasticity.

Neuro refers to the brain.

This phenomenon states that the way you repeatedly think affects the nature of your brain. The person who has come to the point of committing suicide for example has repeatedly brought a set of negative thoughts to mind.

And that has brought the mind to such a state where the person is thinking that I have now got no hope in life and death is better than life.

So, why did somebody reach that state? It was all the result of repeated contemplation.

How do you then prevent somebody from committing that act?

Well, to be happy and positive doesn’t mean that all is well but to accept the reality of life for what it is. From this line of thought, I can clearly state that you don’t teach somebody to escape reality but instead to see the good in whatever bad situation they may find themselves.

This is all about what we focus our minds on and resisting in life.

The main reason people give up hope in life is that they focus on what they don’t have, this distracts them and makes them lose sight of the many blessings they have in their lives.

We all have many reasons to be happy and grateful in life but instead, we easily get distracted by the few things we lack.

You have the power to rewire your brain by focusing it on good and healthy thoughts and counting your blessings daily. You have the power to redirect your life by accepting reality instead of escaping it.
