Khanya Lesedi School makes history

The sports teams are heading to national tournaments for the first time ever.

The Khanya Lesedi School of Specialisation in Ratanda is making history with its sports teams advancing to major tournaments.

The school’s U19 boys’ soccer team recently participated in the May Motsepe provincial tournament. It performed well and qualified for the nationals together with Clapham High.

The team will represent Gauteng in the May Motsepe nationals finals in Rustenburg, and this will be the first time in the school’s history that any team has advanced to the nationals.

The nationals will run from September 23 to 28, with coaches Mercy Makhubo and Kgatle Nhlanhla leading the squad.

Additionally, the school’s girls’ U17 soccer and volleyball teams will participate in Gauteng Schools Champions League Cup 2024 in Pretoria.

Their coaches include Mamatlatsa Mokabane, Thabo Phadime and safety officer Khansani Tebane.
