Soccer teams battle it out in Alra Park
Shooting Stars crowned U17 Youth Day winners.
Alra Park Sports Association held their second Annual Youth Day U17 Soccer Tournament at the MacKenzieville Stadium recently.
The teams came out to make a spectacle and enjoy the day.
After all the matches, the last one was between 4-5-1 Academy and Shooting Stars Football Club.
Shooting Stars FC was victorious after the final whistle. They beat 4-5-1 Academy 2-1.
“The competition was tight this year, and every team showed spirit and determination to play good football. Shooting Stars had to dig deep to win,” said German Visser, chairperson of the Alrapark Sports Development Association.
The local faithful and visitors supported the matches. The teams can look forward to next year’s tournament.
“We thank the supporters for their excitement and vocal support during the final.
“We also thank the referees, especially since a local referee from Alra Park officiated the last match. We hope it encourages some of our youngsters to show interest in officiating.
“Last but not least, we thank our sponsors for their support, namely Supreme Finance, African Bank and Build World Hardware,” concluded Visser.
