Procurement of new waste removal trucks welcomed

The new waste removal trucks will assist the municipality to render efficient and effective services in the Lesedi area.

Lesedi Local Municipality recently unveiled their new waste removal trucks.

LLM has expanded its fleet worth R10 366 326 by the acquisition of three new waste removal trucks that will assist the municipality in rendering efficient and effective services in the Lesedi area.

The LLM Executive Mayor, Mluleki Nkosi and all councillors present were delighted to receive the additional service delivery fleet on June 27 after the council sitting.

“This is an investment for council and will ensure the improvement of service delivery to our communities,” said the mayor.

“Obtaining these additional waste removal trucks will address the challenges we have been experiencing with an ageing fleet and constant breakdowns.

The trucks are now part of LLM’s waste removal fleet.

“The municipality is appreciative of the support it receives from Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Environment (GDARDE) and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), through Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG), which played a vital role in ensuring that our municipality procure this fleet as part of the Integrated waste management plan (IWMP),” added Nkosi.

Nkosi further encouraged LLM workers and drivers to work diligently to deliver services to the people.
