Heidelberg Hope announces resident of the week

“These two youngsters made us incredibly proud. They inspire people of all ages.”

Heidelberg Hope, the local NPO aiming to restore Heidelberg, attracts more volunteers every week.

The volunteers gather weekly to participate in cleaning or restoration projects. The NPO has quickly become a beacon of hope, with community involvement rapidly growing.

The next generation started spreading hope with school children involved in the cleaning projects.

Anya Böhme and Karla Basson, both 10, turned their play date into a clean-up initiative and even crafted ‘designer bags’ for the task.

“These two youngsters made us incredibly proud. They inspire people of all ages,” said Nicolene Neveling, the Heidelberg Hope spokesperson.

To recognise the tremendous efforts of the volunteers who help, Heidelberg Hope will announce a resident of the week weekly.

Anya and Karla were chosen for the accolade this week, earning recognition for giving up their playtime during the school holidays to make a difference in the community.
