HAC beams with pride at Comrades Marathon
The club is aiming to increase Comrades Marathon participation in 2025.
After months of training and preparation, six athletes represented the Heidelberg Athletic Club (HAC) at the Comrades Marathon on June 9.
Ndivhuwo Mukwevho, Lerato Motaung, Albert Kheswa, Vusi Mdhluli, Ndumiso, Mayongo and Mzwandile Gcaleka, demonstrated remarkable strength, endurance and determination as they completed the 85.9km ultra marathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
Motaung and Mdhluli received Bill Rowan medals for completing between 7h30m and 9h00m.
Mukwevho, Mayongo and Kheswa received Robert Mtshali medals for completing between 9h00m and 10h00m and Gcaleka received a bronze medal for completing the marathon between 10h00m and 11h00m.
The club is aiming to increase Comrades Marathon participation in 2025.
“We are calling all runners around Heidelberg, Jameson Park, Bergsig, Rensburg and Ratanda to join us; let’s make champions together,” said Lebogang Tutubala, HAC spokesperson.
