For a second time, the SEESA Jozi Triathlon will return to the Ebotse Golf and Country Estate on September 28 with a full programme on offer for all athletes.

National triathlete Rudolf Naudè powered home in 01:59:13 to win the men’s race, while Debbie O’Leary clinched the women’s event in 02:35:10 in the inaugural event last October.

Alessandro Fanicchi and Natalie Brown won the men’s and women’s sprint race, while Damion Gomez and Amy Jackson clinched the men’s and women’s shorter super-sprint race.

Organiser Glen Gore said the race will still include the standard distance (1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run), sprint distance (750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run) and super-sprint distance (200m, 10km cycle and 2km run).

Gore added that the super-sprint is open to people of all fitness levels and will cater for schools, teams and individuals between the ages of 10 and 18.

“We are excited to bring back this event. The vision is clear; we are looking at making this the go-to triathlon in South Africa,” he said.

“After a highly successful year one, thanks to our sponsors SEESA, Alley Roads and Ebotse Golf and Country Estate, we are returning with a bigger, better race experience for all this year.

“We are excited to have our entry portal open already, so we encourage athletes to sign up early. What a great way to start summer 2024. Now, you have something to train for over the winter. Get the entry in, start training and come have fun with us all in September.”

Gore thanked SEESA for their continued support and Alley Roads, which has contributed immensely to triathlon with several events over the last seven years, including the Alley Roads Triathlon Series.

“We will also have a number of our regular co-sponsors and service providers contributing to the success of this event.”
