Thousands of driving license cards remain uncollected

You have 120 days to collect your driver's licence card.

Motorists are urged to collect their driver’s licence cards within 120 days as prescribed by legislation.

Testing centres have storage challenges with these unclaimed cards as there are thousands of such at various centres.

Applicants are advised to visit the testing centre where the application for renewal was made within four to six weeks to collect their cards.

In terms of Regulation 108 (4), applicants are expected to collect their cards within 120 days, failing which the testing centres will deface all unclaimed cards and the eNaTIS is updated accordingly.

This means that the applicant will have to reapply for the renewal of their licence and also pay for it again.
