Cambridge FC drops points

Back to the drawing board for Cambridge FC.

Cambridge FC dropped points away from home against Callies FC.

The local side lost 1-0.

Cambridge travelled to Callies in Vosloorus on February 3 in the Hollywood Bets League.

Cambridge started the match by controlling the ball and the field position. For the next 45 minutes, they were the team to beat but, unfortunately, could not find the back of the net.

No team were able to get on the scoresheet by halftime.

In the second half, Cambridge continued with their dominant play until Callies got a corner kick in the 68th minute that was converted into the only goal of the match.

Thereafter Callies upped their defence to ensure Cambridge could not score.

“For us, it’s a disappointing result and I hope the boys learn from the game. If you don’t take your opportunities and chances, your outcome will be different. It is now back to the drawing board,” said Cambridge FC coach Minhle Cooper Dineka.

Cambridge FC chairperson Ignatius Maphike said, “We will remain positive and hope that we can become more clinical in front of goalposts and start being consistent.”
