Cambridge draws match at home

The team hopes to return stronger in January.

Cambridge FC hosted FBS Football Club from Katlehong on December 9 at the Mackenzieville Stadium.

“It was the away team that started the match stronger and had the Cambridge team on the backfoot to defend,” Cambridge chairperson Ignatius Maphike said.

The first half ended with a score of 0-0.

During the second half, the Cambridge team found an opening to score.

Cambridge player Junior Mbokazi netted the ball.

FBS Football Club took only four minutes to respond and scored with a free kick.

The match ended with a final score of 1-1.

“It was a disappointing performance and feeling at the end,” Maphike said.

“We will take the one point we gained in the match and return in January to continue the programme. But we must make changes if we want to survive.”
