Storm causes electrical supply damage

Uprooted trees caused much damage.

The storm that swiftly came through Heidelberg on December 7 caused substantial damage.

The storm arrived on Heidelberg’s doorstep in a flash with heavy winds, hail and rain.

The storm uprooted trees.

The winds uprooted several trees, and powerlines were damaged, becoming a potential hazard for motorists when the powerlines and trees obstructed the roads.

Electrical powerlines were blown over.

Some areas were also without power for lengthy periods because of issues caused by the rain and lightning.
At the time of publication, most of the debris had been cleared.
