Cyclists compete for charity

The event was also a seeding event for the 2024 Ride Joburg.

The N3TC Meals on Wheels Cycle Challenge was held on October 15 at Sedaven High School.

Participants could choose to compete in the 53km or 108km races.

The 53km race winners were (places indicated from first to third):

Male:

• Josias Swanepoel with a time of 01:35:59

• Dennis Williams with a time of 01:41:49

• Adriaan van der Nest with a time of 01:42:32

Female:

• Rindie Swanepoel with a time of 01:36:58

• Marisa Williams with a time of 01:50:09

• Chantelle Rudman with a time of 01:50:57

The 108km race winners were:

Male:

• Kent Main with a time of 02:43:56

• Jaco van Dyk with a time of 02:44:11

• Eric Kros with a time of 02:44:32

Female:

• Carla Oberholzer with a time of 03:02:09

• Jessie Munton with a time of 03:13:37

• Alexandra Claasen with a time of 03:32:12

All race finishers received medals and category winners received special medals.

All funds raised by this event contribute towards meals for the elderly and needy.

Participants were also encouraged to bring canned food in support of the Meals on Wheels Food project.
