Cambridge FC gearing up for season

The team won the friendly match against Ballers FC with a score of 2-1.

Cambridge FC recently faced Ballers from Tsakane in a friendly pre-season match.

The match was in preparation for the upcoming season in which the Cambridge team will compete in the Hollywood Bets Men’s Regional League.

“The friendly match started off on a high with both teams’ young and energetic players wanting to prove themselves for the season,” said Cambridge chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

Towards the end of the first half, the Ballers FC won a penalty kick and converted.

Around 30 minutes into the second half, the Cambridge team scored an equalising goal

Soon after, the Cambridge team was rewarded a penalty and converted to win 2-1.

“The team looks stable at the moment, although we do need to add some experience to the team for a bit of balance,” Maphike said.

“The boys have put in the work so far and can only learn from the experienced players.”

The team’s first league match of the season will be played on October 14 at the Mackenzieville Stadium.
