Ekurhuleni Bowls hosted the latest Woodhead Pro Tournament on June 24 and June 25.
The tournament had 102 teams participating in various sections.
Heidelberg Bowling Club had two competitors in the tournament, John Drysdale and Mike van Nierop who did not stand back for anyone and made their competitors notice them.
Drysdale and Van Nierop progressed through the initial rounds and went through to the last 16 groups, thereafter to the semi-finals and progressed to the final.
In the final, Drysdale and Van Nierop played against Wilma Richardson and Cherry-Ann Mills from Lake Bowling Club in Benoni.
Richardson and Mills played a better game and Drysdale and van Nierop were awarded a second-place finish for their sterling effort.
