Fake news alert: No planned shutdown of city’s ICT Systems
Ekurhuleni assures residents there are no shutdowns or disruptions scheduled for the coming weeks.
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) has noted the recent fake news on social media regarding a supposed two-week shutdown of the city’s ICT systems that will impact customers.
“We want to assure our customers and residents that this information is entirely false and be disregarded,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“The CoE municipal systems are functioning normally and have no planned shutdowns or disruptions scheduled for the coming weeks.
“Our dedicated team of professionals works diligently to provide uninterrupted services to our residents and ensure the smooth functioning of essential infrastructure.
“We understand that misinformation can cause confusion and anxiety among the community.
“We kindly request that anyone would refrain from sharing or further propagating this false news on any platform. Instead, we encourage residents to rely on official sources of information for updates and announcements regarding the city.”
