Soccer tournament a success
Soccer skills were on display during Youth Day Soccer Tournament.
The Ekurhuleni Far East U17 Youth Day Soccer Tournament was played from June 16 to 18.
The Alra Park Sports Development Association hosted and presented the event.
Various soccer teams were at the Mackenzieville Stadium to see who would win the tournament.
Cambridge Football Club won and received R5 000 and a new soccer kit.
The runners-up were Tsakane Vultures Football Club. They walked away with R2 000 and two soccer balls.
“The tournament was a huge success with teams showing off various skills and commitment to the sport of soccer,” said the chairperson of Alra Park Sports Development Association, German Visser.
“It was proof that the youth wanted to play sports and be the possible next star.
“We thank our sponsors, Skaaris Funeral Home, JMBros Funeral Services and Mackenzieville Bottle Store, for their faith in us and for being part of the event.
“Last, I want to thank all the supporters who came and supported us,” concluded Visser.
