Suikerbos Oord workers celebrated

Employees rewarded for dedication to the care of the elderly.

Suikerbos Oord held a Workers Appreciation Day on May 5 for all their hardworking and dedicated employees.

Ds Cobus Robinson opened the event with a few wise words.

Rossouw said, “Each of you has demonstrated your dedication and love in what you do here daily. You go out of your way to ensure the residents, as well as Silwer Akker patients, are comfortable and happy. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your dedication.”

Suikerbos Oord manager Jannie Kotze had high praise for the employees and said, “Each one of you is not just here for a pay cheque but for the love of being here and being of service to us as management and the residents as well.”

Jannie Kotze, the Suikerbos Oord manager, spoke highly of his staff.

Rejoice Mazibubo (28 years of service) said, “We are one team and one family. We do what we do because we love the people we deal with and want to be here.”

Another long-standing employee, Jsaia Tsotetsi (27 years of service), said, “I love to work here. It is part of my life and, if God willing, I would love to work here until I go on pension.”

The employees that have been working in Suikerbos Oord for 10 years or longer each received a certificate of recognition for their service.

The following long service awards were handed out:

28 years – Rejoice Mazibuko, 27 years – Jsaia Tsotetsi, 15 years – Magdaleen Mbhele, Sr Hannetjie Marais, 12 years – Pinkie Khonzani, 10 years – Mirriam Dlamini, Maria Dlamini, Rina Beukes and Madia Radebe.
