Damduikers enjoy success on waters

The members caught some big carp during the day.

Members of the Damduiker Fishing Club visited the Nigel Dam on February 24.

They caught 10 carp, of which the biggest was 15kg and caught by Lemoin Smith.

Jonathan Adams caught the second-biggest fish of 11.5kg.

“We thought we were onto something special,” said Dominic Magalhaes of the club.

“Normally after rainstorms, fish can become more active, and we caught the fish mainly on some fruity flavours.”
The Damduikers released the fish back into the dam.

“After what happened at the dam, we can confirm that the dam now has plenty of oxygen for the fish,” Magalhaes said.

“As the Damduikers, we believe in team spirit and would like to request stricter measures by the council to monitor the illegal activities around the dam. Thank you to those who supported and believed in us.”

Anyone wanting to contact the Damduikers may call Magalhaes on 062 745 0776.
