Nigel High learners taught safety awareness
The safety awareness talk was held at Nigel High School on February 15.
Members of the Nigel SAPS and other stakeholders held a safety awareness talk at Nigel High School on February 15.
The stakeholders included sector managers, the Nigel Magistrate’s Court, the Nigel Correctional Services, the Department of Community Safety and the Department of Education, among others.
They emphasised to the learners the importance of education and discipline and addressed the issues of bullying, gangsterism, sexual offences and substance abuse.
The learners were told about the types of correctional facilities in SA, the Child Justice Act and their constitutional rights.
The stakeholders also pledged to help create a safe and secure environment for teachers and their learners.
