Viljoen is a resident of Heidelberg. While Viljoen was playing at the junior football level in Johannesburg, his coach saw potential and asked him if he would like to ply his soccer trade in England. In 1965 at the age of 16, Viljoen went over to England.

Viljoen played for Ipswich Town in the junior ranks and later in the senior team for 13 years. He later went on to play for Manchester City and Chelsey. In 1975, Viljoen was selected to play for the England national football team.

“I want to give back to the Heidelberg community by holding football clinics for the youth. I want to teach them various aspects of football that include individual and technical skills. Who knows the next football superstar might be in our midst.”
