On November 30, Heidelberg SAPS got extra manpower to assist them during the festive season.
Ten extra patrollers were assigned to assist Heidelberg SAPS to combat crime from December 1 to January 31.
A passing-out parade was held at Sol Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Sebokeng with the launch of the festive season activities.
The patrollers will be stationed at the Heidelberg Mall and other shopping areas within Heidelberg.
Heidelberg station commander Colonel Phiwe Ndwadwe welcomed the patrollers and briefed them on what is expected from them.
Ndwandwe expressed his utmost gratitude to the community safety department for the opportunity granted to patrollers to assist the SAPS over this period.
