Karateka on their way to Sweden

The all styles tournament in Sweden will take place in June 2023.

Various students from the Tenshinkan Karate Club in Nigel will compete in Sweden next year.

This follows after the karateka achieved SARMAF South African colours during the SARMAF national selections held in June this year.

The students selected to participate and represent South Africa at the all-styles tournament in Sweden next year in June are sensei Leon Gagiano (kumite and kata), sensei Nathan Helen (unison kata and kumite), Marlize van Rooyen (kata and kumite) and Christopher Shorthouse (kata and kumite).

Additional teams will be selected at a later stage to compete in 2023 in Las Vegas for various all styles tournaments.

“Hard work, dedication and absolute commitment is the key to such achievements,” said Gagiano.

“I am very proud of every student and want to encourage other students to never give up. The will to succeed lies within yourself.”
