Cambridge FC back in spotlight

Cambridge FC faced Joburg City FC in the Nedbank Cup.

On October 1, the newly structured Cambridge SAB League team squared off against their old rivals, Joburg City FC at the Jim Fouché Stadium in town.

The match formed part of the Nedbank Keyona Cup.

Cambridge FC started the game well by keeping the ball in its position.

The home team also opened the scoring with a pass from Minhle ‘mini’ Cooper Dineka to winger Lucky Ndlovu who netted the ball.

The first half of the match ended with a score of 1-0 for the Cambridge team.

During the second half of the match the Cambridge team managed two more goals by Auguston Leonard.
Joburg City FC also scored a goal during the second half.

The match ended in a win for the Cambridge team with a final score of 3-1.

“It was a good start,” said coach Godfrey Hermanus. “We only had one friendly match in preparation for this one, but the boys came out on top.”
