GBV in the spotlight

Stand up against acts of GBV.

On August 12, Heidelberg SAPS, SAPS social crime awareness, Alpha Trauma, the Gauteng Traffic Department, the Department of Social Development, VFR Warden Women and the libraries department joined hands in the fight against GBV.

The idea behind the operation was to raise public awareness of GBV, substance abuse, domestic violence and road safety. A roadblock was set up with a stop and search by the Gauteng Traffic Department.

Pamphlets were also distributed and consultations were held with victims of GBV.

Pamphlets were distributed about gender-based violence.

Part of the counselling was advice on how to cope with the act of GBV.
