Nigel SAPS engage with community

The engagement was held in Alrapark to tell the community more about Spiritual Crime Prevention.

Members of the Nigel SAPS conducted a community engagement in Alrapark on July 30.

The purpose of the Spiritual Crime Prevention (SCP) engagement was to encourage the community to work with pastors and traditional healers in the community to address social ills.

According to communications officer Sergeant Neliswa Dwaba, it was emphasised that SCP is not only about one religion.

“Different leaders from different beliefs must come forward to form part of the SCP,” she said.

Members of social crime prevention enlightened the community about the different social ills in the community.

Issues such as GBV, domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual offences and substance abuse were discussed.

Community members were also encouraged to join structures such as the CPF to help curb crime in the area.
