Nigel SAPS advised fraudulent transactions can be prevented, provided that individuals do not give out personal information over the phone and immediately visit their closest branch.

NIGEL SAPS alerted the community to be vigilant against criminal activities.

They advised the community not to provide personal information to strangers.

The SAPS noted a trend where, at an alarming rate, fraudsters call individuals, pretending to be calling from various banking institutions.

After they confirm banking details and personal information, they inform the individual of certain transactions in their banking account and that an OTP number has already been sent to the client to block such transactions.

Numerous cases of fraudulent transactions have been registered for investigation.
