SAPS probe shooting and kidnapping
Police have urged community members with information to come forward.
Heidelberg SAPS needs the community’s assistance after a shooting and apparent kidnapping.
It was reported that a 19-year-old man was shot between 11:00 and 13:00 on May 18 at the cemetery opposite Bergsig.
According to the victim, he and his three friends were confronted by two men driving a light brown SUV. The pair had blue camouflage jackets, blue trousers and one had a blue beret on.
The men had one rifle that could be seen.
According to the statement, the men shot the victim and kidnapped his three friends.
The victim is in hospital.
The motive for the reported kidnapping is not known at this stage and the SAPS is investigating the incident.
