Ratanda SAPS’ Detective secures conviction

Hard work pays off to secure a conviction.

Ratanda SAPS’ Detective Sergeant Hleziphi Cleopatra Nkosi’s tenacity and hard work have paid off.

Nkosi continuously investigated a case committed in 2019 and finally got a conviction and sentence for the crime committed.

The case was opened in September 2019, and the conviction in the Heidelberg Regional Court was on September 8, 2023.

The charges he investigated were for murder and assault with the intention to do grievous bodily harm.

The convictions were two counter charges of murder, with the suspect sentenced to eight years imprisonment and two years for assault with intent of bodily harm.

Further successful arrests by the Ratanda SAPS were as follows: theft, intimidation, assault GBH, assault, rape, and illegal shebeens were closed and issued with fines.

Ratanda SAPS station commander Lieutenant Colonel Moleleki Ramotshabi applauded Nkosi for his hard work to secure a conviction and thanked the community for working with the police.
