Rensburg elderly couple robbed

A Rensburg couple was tied up in their home and the thieves stole their car.

An elderly couple living on Vos Street, Rensburg, was overpowered and robbed in their home on August 22.

Three robbers, armed with a firearm, knife and iron rod, entered the home, tied up the couple and stole electronic appliances.

Initially, the robbers wanted firearms, but the couple kept none on the premises.

The robbers arrived in a gold Audi and fled with the couple’s Nissan X-Trail.

After the robbers had fled, Crimestop was notified and on the scene in minutes. Various other security companies also arrived to assist.

The Heidelberg SAPS is investigating the robbery. No arrests were made, and the couple sustained no injuries.
