Suspect arrested for selling stolen items

Arrest made in connection with hair salon burglary.

A hair salon in the Heidelberg CBD had been a target of criminals the past year.

The latest incident was a burglary on May 26, the fourth time in a year.

The modus operandi is nearly the same each time. The perpetrators break the front window to gain access.
After the latest incident, Heidelberg SAPS arrested a suspect at the Voortrekker Taxi Rank in Heidelberg for selling goods stolen from the salon.

The suspect had an item from the hair salon in his possession.

Upon questioning, the suspect confessed to the SAPS members that he stole the items.

He then took the police to the shops where he sold the other items to the value of R10 000. The police confiscated these items.

The suspect appeared in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court on May 29.
