Operation Okae Molao successful

District commissioner Major General Anna Sithole formed part of the Nigel operation.

Law enforcement arrested several offenders in the Ekurhuleni District policing precinct between May 18 and 19.

The arrests by various SAPS detectives and law enforcement agencies resulted from Operation Okae Molao in the area.

Of the offenders arrested, 93 were for contact crimes, 11 for contact-related crimes, 12 for property crimes, 36 for serious crimes, three for tampering with essential infrastructure, seven for crimes depending on police actions, 16 for arrest warrants and 22 for gender-based violence.

On May 19, Ekurhuleni District commissioner Major General Anna Sithole led the operations in the Nigel policing precinct, where these arrests were made:

Nineteen people for being undocumented, one for being in possession of drugs (cat, crystal meth), and two for being in possession of stolen property – members found 11 goats and a sheep in the boot of the vehicle, which SAPS took for inquiry).

Three illegal shebeens were closed, and 93 traffic fines, valued at R41 200, were issued.

Sithole applauded the members of law enforcement for their continued struggle against crime.
